When Truth Is Blind Short film:
United Reform Church
In our second collaboration with director Kevin Snyman, we were aproached with a brief for a short film on issues of migration in the UK. We were resposable of leading the Direction of Photography of the project with a tight budget. "Refugees, migration, foreigners in a strange land. How are we to talk about such issues in this brave new world? This film forms part of the United Reformed Church's project called @Home in a Strange Place, which encourages conversation on precisely these subjects. Written as a stage play by the great Richard Becher, starring the wonderful Delroy Brown and versatile John Sugden, with an appearance by the irrepressible Celia Morris Sanchez, this film will both challenge and warm your heart."
With a close personal involvement in the project we chose:
Use of DSLR camera and reduced lighting package, make best use of natural available summer light
Development of the imagery
Dramatic tone, story and cinematography
The video has been released to general public under a Creatve Commons license worldwide, and it is been screened to generate discussion on issues of prejudice and discrimination.
"Diego Barraza brought peace, centredness and insight with his deeply professional approach."
